摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording material which gives an optical recording medium being free from lowering of productivity due to crystallization and capable of meeting high-speed recording.

SOLUTION: The optical recording material contains a cyanine compound expressed by general formula (I) of a molecular structure having a specified group at an N place, and the optical recording medium is constituted by forming on a base an optical recording layer consisting of the optical recording material.
