<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the remaining amount of toner while a toner chamber is sealed to the outside. <P>SOLUTION: A toner cartridge comprises a first storage chamber which stores toner, an agitation member which agitates the toner in the first toner chamber, a detection unit which detects movements of the agitation member, and a second storage chamber which houses the detection unit. The agitation member includes a first portion which agitates the toner and a second portion transmitting the movements of the agitation member to the detection unit, and is driven to rotate in the first storage chamber.
