PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel electrode for a solid oxide fuel cell, capable of providing a solid oxide fuel cell that can suppress degradation of performance due to drop in the temperature at operation, and to provide a solid oxide fuel cell that contains it.

SOLUTION: This fuel electrode for a solid oxide fuel cell contains a metal for dissociating hydrogen molecules and an ion conductor conducting hydrogen ions and oxide ions. This solid oxide fuel cell contains it. An ion conductor represented by a composition Formula (I): BaCe1-xSmxO3-(x/2)can be used for them.
