Provided is a getter for an organic electroluminescent device which inhibits generation and growth of dark spot due to the moisture infiltrated from the outside of a device, improves the lifetime of a device and is suitable for bottom emission and top emission. The getter comprises a hygroscopic organometallic compound selected from the group consisting of the compounds represented by M1-(R1)n or R2-(M2)m, wherein M1 is any one selected from an alkali metal of group 1A, an alkaline earth metal of group 2A and a metal of group 3A; M2 is an alkali metal of group 1A; R1 is independently a linear, branched or cyclic alkyl group, a linear or branched alkoxyalkyl group, an alkynyl group, a linear or branched alkylthioalkyl group, an aminoalkyl group, a linear or branched silylalkyl group, an acyl group, an ester group, an amide group, a linear or branched arylalkyl group, a linear or branched heteroarylalkyl group, an aromatic group or a hetero aromatic group; R2 is independently a linear, branched or cyclic alkylene group, a linear or branched alkoxyalkylenegroup, an alkene group, a linear or branched alkylthioalkylene group, an aminoalkylene group, a linear or branched silylalkylene group, a linear or branched arylalkylene group, a linear or branched hetero arylalkylene group, an aromatic group or a hetero aromatic group; n is an integer of 1-3; and m is an integer of 2-4. |
