529,368. Cardboard boxes. WILLIAMS, W. P. (Bergstein, S.). May 30, 1939, No. 15961. [Classes 18 and 66] A blank of the form shown in Figs. 1 or 7 is folded into a collapsed tubular container open at both ends and with a tearing flap 1 or 14a adapted to form a lid, by moving it by means of conveying elements 9 past a twist plate 10, an extension 11 of which raises flap 3 while a plate 13 holds down flap 4 till it passes beneath plate 10. Flaps 4 are then glued by a roller 13a whereafter the blank is folded, first on the line between panels 1, 6 and then on that between panels 5, 7. The form shown in Fig. 7 is adapted to be divided into two containers and the locking device indicated on panel 7, Fig.- 1, may be incorporated to inhibit movement of the contents. The glue naps may be on the front instead of the lid. |
