PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce maintenance costs and repair costs of a slip ring in a rotary system such as a CT imaging system. SOLUTION: A data transmission system comprises: a transmitter 106; a receiver 108; and a magnetic coupling type rotary transformer 102 having a first part 103 and a second part 105 movable with respect to each other. The transmitter is coupled electrically and mechanically to the first part of the rotary transformer, and the receiver is coupled electrically and mechanically to the second part of the rotary transformer. The transmitter and the receiver are constituted so as to make radio communication of data across the rotary transformer while the first and second parts of the rotary transformer perform relative rotation movement.
