PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low cost dead body cooling device capable of efficiently cooling necessary portions of a dead body without using frozen carbon dioxide. SOLUTION: This dead body cooling device 1 is provided with a cooling sheet body 3 capable of covering from the thoracic part to the abdominal part, and a cooling means of the cooling sheet body. The cooling sheet body is so formed that a prescribed number of oblong, meandering and narrow tube type heat pipes 2 are parallel aligned in the lengthwise direction of the cooling sheet body with their longitudinal direction fitted to the crosswise direction of the cooling sheet body, the heat radiation parts of the respective meandering and narrow tube type heat pipes are disposed in the lengthwise direction of cooling sheet body, oblong, meandering and narrow tube type exothermic heat pipes 8 are brought into planar contact with the heat radiation parts of the respective meandering and narrow tube type heat pipes, the endothermic part of Peltier element 4 is brought into planar contact with the heat radiation parts of the meandering and narrow tube type exothermic heat pipe, the heat of the heat radiation part of the Peltier element is absorbed via a endothermic head 10 of a cooling water circulating type water cooling means, and a pipe is connected to air-cool the heat-absorbing cooling water by a radiator 5.
