PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process of patterning a passivation film on the dry system. SOLUTION: A manufacturing method for an organic EL display works through such processes as an anode forming process to form an anode on a base board, an exfoliation layer forming process to form an exfoliation layer in a position as a patterning region of the passivation film on the base board with the anode formed thereon, an organic EL layer forming process to form an organic EL layer including an organic light emitting layer on the base board with the anode formed thereon, a cathode forming process to form a cathode on the organic EL layer, a passivation film forming process to form the passivation film on the cathode and the exfoliation layer, an exfoliating process to exfoliate that portion of the passivation film existing on the exfoliation layer, and an exfoliation layer removing process to remove the exfoliation layer.
