<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bulb capable of solving a problem of a short life due to generation of arc which poses a problem in the bulb wherein efficiency can be improved by sealing xenon, and capable of reducing cost. <P>SOLUTION: Since mixed gas comprising 50-90 volume% of xenon, 5-30 volume% of krypton and 5-20 volume% of nitrogen is sealed in a glass bulb 1, evaporation of tungsten of the filament can be suppressed, and degradation of arc discharge starting voltage can be suppressed.
