An lightweight spacer for reinforcing bar exhibiting excellent handling properties, workability and reliability and being mass produced inexpensively in which adhesion to concrete is enhanced without blocking the flow of concrete, especially, the flow of aggregate therein by using a simple shape, breakage of concrete and incidental cracking thereof can be reduced remarkably by preventing generation of air gap in front and rear, substantially constant compression strength can be attained by abutting the distal end of a positioning protrusion against the surface of forms with no restriction by the fixing position or direction, variation in deformation is suppressed, concentration of stress occurring due to thermal expansion and drying/shrinkage of concrete can be reduced sharply, occurrence and propagation of cracking can be prevented, and durability of a reinforced concrete structure can be enhanced. The spacer for reinforcing bar, being fixed to a reinforcing bar in order to sustain a clearance between the reinforcing bar and the forms, comprises a substantially arcuate portion being fitted to the reinforcing bar, and a plurality of positioning protrusions projecting radially from the outer circumference of the portion being fitted to the reinforcing bar.
|
