<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system which can make efficient use of ink. <P>SOLUTION: This printing system can print a specified piece of image data selected from among a plurality of pieces of image data, with the use of print recording agents of different colors. In addition, the printing system comprises a residue detection means which can detect the residue of the print recording agents by color, a consumption amount calculating means which can calculate the consumption amount of the print recording agent decided per piece of image data, a selection means which can select the specified piece of image data for which the effective use of the residue of the print recording agent, can be made, and a printing means which can preferentially print the selected piece of image data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
