An electrolytic cell which can prevent damage of the electrolytic cell by installing a safety valve at an electrolytic cell body, thereby reducing an internal pressure of the electrolytic cell, and an ion water purifier using the same are provided. An electrolytic cell comprises: an electrolytic cell body which includes an electrode and a case for covering the electrode to produce ion water by electrolyzing water; and a safety valve installed on the electrolytic cell body to reduce an internal pressure of the electrolytic cell body. The electrolytic cell body has an inflow port, a product water discharge port and an effluent discharge port formed therein, and the safety valve is installed on the effluent discharge port. The safety valve is installed in such a way that it is branched off from the effluent discharge port, and the safety valve comprises a first housing(61) on which a pressure-reducing inflow port(65) is formed, a plunger(64) disposed within the first housing to open or close the pressure-reducing inflow port, a spring(63) for applying elasticity to the plunger, a valve connection part connected to the first housing by a screw, and a pipe-connecting part formed on the valve connection part such that a cross-sectional area of the pipe-connecting part is reduced to form a step height. |
