PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition for an artificial marble which can reduce the weight of the molded product without reducing its thickness while maintaining its strength and can lower its shrinkage during molding and from which an artificial marble having a heat-retaining property can be obtained. SOLUTION: The resin composition for an artificial marble is obtained by compounding additives such as a filler, an inner releasing agent, a hardening agent, a patterning material c which expresses an artificial marble pattern, or the like into a thermosetting resin, wherein it is characterized in that micro balloons a and thermal-expansible microcapsules b are added and compounded in combination into the resin composition.
