<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of introducing exhaust gases from a plurality of groups of cylinders into an exhaust emission control device after being sufficiently mixed and uniformized in the exhaust emission control devices of an internal combustion engine having the plurality of groups of cylinders. <P>SOLUTION: Exhaust gases from the groups of cylinders are branched into a plurality of branch pipes 2a and 2b, 52a and 52b, the exhaust gases 2a and 52a, 2b and 52b branched from exhaust gases from the different cylinder groups are merged with each other to form mixed tubes 3, 53.
