PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film separating device of simple constitution capable of managing with a small force applied at the initial stage of separation, preventing a base board from being damaged or deformed, and maintaining a quality of base board. SOLUTION: The film separating device includes an initial stage separating means 20 equipped with an separating blade 21 whose blade edge is moved parallel with the surface of the base board toward inside the base board from the corner part of a film in the affixation part of the base board and the film 2b with each other, a nozzle 29 to spray a fluid in the moving direction of the separating blade into the gap formed with film separation from the base board originating from movement of the separating blade, and a clumping member 30 to grasp the end of the film turned up with spraying of the fluid from the nozzle, move in the direction of separating from the surface of the base board, and promote further separation of the film from the base board, wherein further a film separating/transporting means 40 is provided to pinch the film between separating transport rollers 41 and 42 and a catch roller 45 and exfoliate the film from the base board.
