An apparatus and a method for controlling a power on up shift of automatic transmission are provided to solve tie up impact by learning and controlling a hydraulic pressure of a release-side clutch. A power on up shift control apparatus is comprised of a speed detector(101), a TPS(Time and Positioning Sensing) detector(103), an engine revolution detector(105), a turbine revolution detector(107), a gearshift controller(109), and a solenoid valve(111). The gearshift controller determines generation of tie up at a release-side clutch when a variation rate of a turbine revolution is beyond an upper limit. The gearshift learns and calculates an amount of hydraulic pressure correction to control the hydraulic pressure. |
