PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user interface device which is suitably applied to an image reader for reading a document image and generating digital data to assign a time stamp to the digital data, and to provide an image reader provided with the user interface device. SOLUTION: The user interface device applied to the image reader for reading an image document and generating image data comprises a setting part setting a reading condition of the document image and an instruction part for starting the reading of the document image according to the reading condition set by the setting part.
