PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mist catching air blower in a machine tool capable of catching fine oil mists of 100Åclass or the like, and removing cutting fluid and chips adhering to a workpiece and drying the workpiece. SOLUTION: In the mist catching device 30, a rotating shaft 47 to which a rotary filter 51 comprising a non-woven cloth of 0.3-3μm mesh is attached is supported rotatably by a case 31, air containing mists is suctioned from a suction hood 16 in a work bowl 15 by a normal rotation operation of Roots type blower 75 in which the normal rotation and reverse rotation are possible to remove mists from the air by the filter 51 and discharge the air passing through the filter outside. Pressure air jetted out from a nozzle 24 of the air blower 20 provided on a spindle head by the reverse rotation operation of Roots type blower 75 removes the cutting fluid and chips adhering to the workpiece, and at the same time, dries the workpiece.
