PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor-operated valve suitable for compactly storing a reduction gear in a small space in a rotor. SOLUTION: The motor-operated valve comprises a valve body 10 having a valve chamber and a valve seat; a valve element 260; a valve stem 250 operating the valve element; a cylindrical can 30 stuck to the valve body; a motor exciting device 2 mounted to the outer peripheral part of the can; a permanent magnet type rotor assembly 50 rotatably supported to the inner peripheral part of the can and rotationally driven by the exciting device; the reduction gear 100 reducing the speed of the rotation of the rotor assembly; and a screw mechanism for advancing/retreating the valve element to/from the valve seat by the rotating operation of the rotor assembly through the reduction gear.
