A method for preventing an overheat effect of automatic transmission fluid of an automatic transmission vehicle is provided to secure oil cooling performance by maintaining a stable particular on-mode. A first process is performed to determine whether a shift position in a driving state of a vehicle speed corresponds to a setting range or not(S10). A second process is performed to compare a temperature range of ATF(Automatic Transmission Fluid) with a setting temperature range(S20). A third process is performed to determine an abnormal state due to the slip amount of a torque converter by comparing the slip amount with a setting value(S30). A fourth process is performed to execute a particular on-mode when conditions of the third process are satisfied(S50). A fifth process is performed to compare a setting value is compared with a gradient when the conditions of the third process are not satisfied(S40). A sixth process is performed to execute the particular on-mode when the conditions of the fifth process are satisfied(S50).
