PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To limit data recording in a disk by limiting the number of times of updating a management information area in a recordable optical disk where the recording number of times of the management information area of a DVD+R or the like is limited. SOLUTION: Management information necessary for recording data is copied in a buffer memory in step 110, data recording in a disk is controlled by using the management information of the buffer memory (steps 120 and 120), continuity between data in the disk is determined in step 150, and the management information of the disk is updated based on the determined continuity.
