The circuit has parallel switched delayed operable clocked output stages (3), which exchange charge packets with a piezo-actuator (2) and are operated in a delayed manner. The output stages are decoupled among each other by isolating diodes (5) and coupling diodes (6) and by filter inductors. The output stages have storage inductors that include an upstream primary switching unit, where current flow is produced by the storage inductors. An independent claim is also included for a method of changing charge of a capacitive load.
