<p>The invention relates to a pedometer, a device for recording the number of steps as well as for evaluating the distance covered by a person during sports training, physical exercise of the "fitness" type, in tourism or certain military applications etc. According to the invention, the pedometer comprises an arithmetic minicomputer (1) provided with a display and mounted on the rear side of the upper of a shoe (2) and provided with a pawl (3) mounted on a hinge. One end (a) of the pawl (3) presses the addition key of the arithmetic minicomputer (1) under the action of an unextensible thread (4) linked to the pawl (3) by the other end (b) thereof, guided by means of a sleeve (5) and fastened by a staple (6) on the front side of the upper of the shoe (2). As a consequence of the flexion of the shoe (2), each step results in the relaxation of the thread (4) which releases the addition key of the arithmetic minicomputer (1), further on, the shoe (2) determining the tensioning of the thread (4) which presses the key of the arithmetic minicomputer (1) which records the number of double steps made by said person and finally displays the distance covered by the same.</p> |
