<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power window device which can prevent a window pane from forgetting to close, which is caused by an accidental act contrary to the intention of a driver, and which is safer and more comfortable. <P>SOLUTION: In addition to a timer function after an ignition switch is OFF, only the operation of the closing direction of the window pane is allowed when a door is opened. Because of this, the window pane can be prevented from going into open operation contrary to the intention of the driver after the ignition switch is OFF. Thus, after an engine is switched off or the like, the inconvenience of further performing the ON operation of the ignition switch and performing the closing operation of the window pane can be eliminated. Furthermore, the driver can be prevented from leaving a vehicle with the window pane half-open.
