PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that image quality deteriorates and a recording liquid leaks sometimes from a head at the time when the inflow of the recording liquid causing air and negative pressure drop in a sub tank causes a negative pressure abnormality. SOLUTION: The image forming device displaceably has a negative pressure sensing lever 106 which displaces in accordance with negative pressure in a sub tank 35, and performs the action of recovering negative pressure to return the negative pressure of the sub tank 35 to the normal condition by detecting the causing of a negative pressure abnormality in the sub tank 35 by sensing the opening of the negative pressure sensing lever 106 in performing the action of filling the sub tank 35 with an ink by absorbing the ink from the corresponding nozzles of the recording head 34 in accordance with the amount of opening of the negative pressure sensing lever 106 when the negative pressure abnormality has occurred in the sub tank 35 by the opening of the negative pressure sensing lever 106.
