PURPOSE:To inform stored kinds of picture information to a selected storage medium by storing an index of picture information of each storage medium in a picture information recorder as the managing information. CONSTITUTION:When the operator selects a file from a keyboard 3, a main controller 1 discriminates whether or not the selected file number of file name is coincident with the file number of file name of the managing information stored on a floppy disc device 2. When dissident, it is displayed as mis-selection of file pon a CRT display 8. Further, when coincident, the location where the index of picture information of the selected file is stored is discriminated from a picture information objective address in the managing information, then the required picture information is read out from a floopy 2 or an optical disc 6 and displayed on a CRT display 8. |
