A method of producing a toner, a toner and an image forming method are provided to produce a polymer toner containing polyester resin and styrene-acrylic resin, improve fixation and fine-line reproducibility in a fixing process and stably form images with high picture quality. Guttulate of a composition for forming compound resin particles containing a condensation-polymerizable monomer composed of carboxylic acid of at least one type and alcohol of at least one type and a radical polymerizable monomer composed of styrene compound of at least one type and arylic acid ester compound of at least one type is formed. The carboxylic acid and the alcohol are condensation-polymerized to form a polyester resin. The styrene compound and the acrylic acid ester compound are radical-copolymerized to form a styrene-acryilc resin.
