METHOD FOR AUTHENTICATING USER BY USE OF SECURITY CARD HAVING A PLURALITY OF SECURITY NUMBERS

A method for authenticating a user with a security card is provided to improve security of the security card by performing authentication with modification of a security symbol based on a modification rule and easily generate a result value needed for the authentication by using the modification rule easily recognized to the user. User ID information and an authentication request are received(30). At least one security card code and the modification rule are transmitted to a communication unit registered to the user(34). The user receives the result value applying the modification rule to the security symbol corresponding to the security card code(35). The security symbol is inquired by referring to the security card code in a security card database(35). An authentication value modified by applying the modification rule to the inquired security symbol is compared with the result value(37). The modification rule is the rule for transmitting at least a part of codes among the security symbol or the codes formed by arranging the part of the security code in reverse order as the result value.
