A spindle motor is provided to simplify a process of assembling the motor by integrally forming a bearing housing with a base plate, without installing a separate member for fixing a bearing. A spindle motor includes a rotor having a rotor yoke(103), a magnet(104), and a rotation shaft(101) coupled to the rotor yoke, a stator having a coil(107) and a core(108), a base plate supporting the stator, and a circuit board(106) located on the base plate. A housing(105a) is integrally formed with the base plate, and a bearing(109) is disposed in the housing to support the rotation shaft. A thrust stopper(115) is fixed to a bottom portion of the housing to seal the housing.
