PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device inspecting cathode-ray tubes which accurately detects defects on a panel inner surface, and then informs a worker of the fact by discriminating defects on the inner surface and dirt on the outer surface of a panel with higher accuracy, and also to provide a method for manufacturing cathode-ray tubes using the same. SOLUTION: This inspection device for cathode-ray tubes comprises: a CCD camera (a third imaging unit) 10c for imaging a panel outer surface side by receiving light reflected on the outer surface side of a panel 40; and a dirt detection means 50b for detecting dirt on a panel outer surface side by using results imaged with the CCD camera 10c. Then, defects on the inner surface side of a panel are detected by an extraction means 50a and a defect detecting means 50c, in such a manner that dirt on the outer surface side of the panel detected by the dirt detection means 50b is eliminated from the faults of the panel 40, extracted from results imaged with CCD cameras (a first and second imaging units) 10a, 10b which includes defects on the inner surface side and dirt on the outer surface side of the panel.
