PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rope vibration control device and its mounting structure capable of being constructed in a small size without impairing the vibration control performance and being installed in an appropriate space in a machinery room. SOLUTION: The rope vibration control device is to suppress the swing of a rope 9 set over on a winch 7 installed in the machinery room through a machine beam 3, and is equipped with mounting bases 21 confronting at a certain distance in the direction perpendicular to the rope aligning direction, a plurality of rollers 22 supported on the confronting base 21 at an approximately equal distance from the rope 9 and movably in the horizontal direction, and a damper 29 installed between the shaft 23 of each roller 22 and a supporting member 27 in the prescribed position on the mounting base 21 and performing the expanding/contracting motions in association with the horizontal motions of the respective rollers 22, and when the rope 9 swinging contacts with the roller(s), the roller 22 moves in the horizontal direction to contract the damper 29 through the shaft 23 of the roller 22.
