A charging circuit and a semiconductor device including the same are provided to suppress the increase of temperature during a charging operation without prolonging a charging time, by comprising a charging control circuit part controlling an operation of a charging current generation circuit part. In a charging circuit(1) performing a charging operation of a secondary battery(7), a charging current generation circuit part(4) generates one of a first charging current value and a second charging current value during the secondary battery charging operation and then supplies the charging current value to the secondary battery. A charging control circuit part(3) performs operation control of the charging current generation circuit part. A temperature detection circuit part(2) performs surrounding temperature detection of the charging current generation circuit part and the charging control circuit part. The charging control circuit part supplies a charging current of the second charging current value to the secondary battery when the temperature detected in the temperature detection circuit part is above a first temperature, and prohibits conversion to the first charging current value if the first time does not elapse by supplying the charging current of the second charging current value to the secondary battery.
