An improved mobile phone is disclosed, which is provided with a panic alarm powered by a power source supplementary to the phone's main battery. When stolen, the alarm can be activated by calling the phone and including a panic alarm suffix. The phone can also be primed to act as a panic alarm, whereby an alarm can be activated by a single button press.
