A backlight unit and an LCD having the same are provided to make the color temperature of the backlight unit uniform, by sensing the change of color temperature of self-emission type lamps to control the self-emission type lamps. A backlight unit is configured to supply a light to an LCD panel. The backlight unit is composed of a first light emitting part(102) and a second light emitting part(100). The first light emitting part includes self-emission type lamps(102a), and the second light emitting part includes fluorescent type lamps(101). A color sensor(130) senses the color types of self-emission type lamps. A driving circuit part(110) controls the color temperature of the first light emitting part by voltage supplied from the color sensor. |
