A 3-dimensional image display apparatus is provided to produce a beam group required for displaying the 3-dimensional image with the high spacial density. An optical modulation member(130) includes plural pixels for modulating the light from a light source(110) and producing the 2-dimensional image. The optical modulation member irradiates the spatial frequency of the 2-dimensional image according to the diffraction angle corresponding to the plural diffraction orders. A fourier transformation image forming member(140) performs the fourier transformation of the spatial frequency of the 2-dimensional image. A fourier transformation image selecting member(150) selects one among the fourier transformation images. A combination image forming member(160) forms a combination image of the selected fourier transformation image.
