A method for detecting the breakage of a lamp for an LCD is provided to promptly and accurately check the breakage of the lamp even without disassembling of the LCD, by generating a detection voltage from the lamp and applying the detection voltage to a detecting unit. A fluorescent lamp receives a driving voltage and emits a light. A detecting unit(100) measures a detection voltage from the fluorescent lamp. A comparing unit(200) receives the detection voltage, and compares the detection voltage with a comparison reference voltage. A light emitting diode(LED) is turned on or turned off according to signal of the comparing unit. |
