<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that preparation of two systems such as an MPEG encoder and an MPEG decoder is required when video recording or viewing/listening of another program is desired in the case a dubbing accompanied with a bit rate conversion or a format conversion of DVD specification is carried out in a disk video recording and playing-back device. <P>SOLUTION: This device is equipped with: one system of a compression means for compressing and encoding a video/audio signal; one system of a restoration means for restoring the compressed and encoded video/audio signal; two systems of multiplexing means for multiplexing the compressed and encoded data; and two systems of demultiplexing means for demultiplexing the data which are compressed and recorded on a recording medium, to the compressed and encoded data. When the video signal recorded by a DVD video recording format is converted to a DVD video format, only the re-multiplexing is carried out without performing the MPEG decoding. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
