PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an impact absorbing body capable of absorbing big impact energy. SOLUTION: A plurality of struts 2 and 2T are provided at predetermined intervals, a horizontal rope material 3 is provided between the struts 2 and 2T, and a space between the struts 2 and 2T is covered with a net body 7. A loading plate 13 having a loading surface 13M is provided to the end section 3T of the horizontal rope material 3, at the same time, the loading surface 13M is provided to the strut 2T, and a ring material 13 held between those both loading surfaces 13M and 13M and is placed. When tensile force is applied to the horizontal rope material 3 by impact force such as avalanche/a falling rock or the like, the space between the two loading surfaces 13M and 13M is getting narrower, the ring material 12 is made to collapse, and impact energy can be absorbed by deformation of the ring material 13.
