PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal which does not cause deposition of a chiral agent and is capable of stably developing a blue phase so that it achieves a uniform in-plane distribution in a cell, and a liquid crystal/polymer composite comprising the liquid crystal and a polymer. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal contains a liquid crystal compound and a chiral agent whose spiral-induction force is 40-80/μm<SP>-1</SP>and the crystallization point is 10-50°C. The liquid crystal is capable of developing the blue phase. The liquid crystal/polymer composite is obtained by polymerizing a liquid crystal composition containing the liquid crystal, a monofunctional polymerizable monomer and a polyfunctional polymerizable monomer.
