A decoding method for a rear-time service is provided to reduce the number of frames which are jumped over due to an error by searching a sync position of the frame and decoding the frame when the error is detected. A decoding method for a real-time service includes decoding a stream in a terminal, updating a sync position, and if an error is detected in the stream, decoding the detected sync position to search a sync position from the previous stream of the sync position. The stream is encoded by an AAC(Advanced Audio Coding) audio codec. When the packet having a fixed data size is received, the error is detected in the stream.
