A method and an apparatus for controlling a temperature of a printer head chip are provided to control the temperature by installing a power cut part for cutting power supplied to heat the printer head chip. An apparatus for controlling a temperature of a printer head chip includes a heating part(310), a temperature detection part(320), and a controller(330). The heating part heats a predetermined part provided on the printer head chip. The temperature detection part detects a temperature of the printer head chip, and outputs the detected result. The controller outputs a control signal to the heating part in response to the detected result. The controller is installed at the printer head chip.
