<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a maintenance system for machanical equipment capable of easily specifying a component needing maintenance at low cost and giving knowledge of the latest maintenance information about the components. <P>SOLUTION: A filler 1 as the machanical equipment is constructed of a plurality of units 1a, each of which is constructed of a plurality of components. To each unit, a unit tag 4 serving as an ID tag storing maintenance information about the components constituting each unit is attached, and a worker can read the maintenance information about the component stored in the unit tag by communicating with the unit tag by means of a portable terminal 5. When maintenance such as replacement is carried out, the maintenance information can be rewritten.
