The device has a beam deflector (6) or a closing unit (9) arranged at an optical path of a laser beam of a cable connection (4), where the deflector and the closing unit are controlled by a locking device (8) . The deflector or the closing unit guides the beam to the connection only in a locked condition of the locking device. The connection and the deflector or the closing unit is separated from each other by a separating wall (14). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a distributor for distributing a laser beam to a set of laser light cables with a coupling device (2) a solid laser with a set of coupling devices.
