The clipper has a housing (4), upper and lower blades (14, 50) and a lever (6) for swiveling the blades against each other. A positioning unit fixes the lever opposite to the housing, where the lever and the positioning unit are formed from a single component. The lever is accommodated in the housing in a fixed condition and movable relative to a longitudinal axis of the housing. An actuation section with a specific haptic characteristic is formed on an upper side of the lever. Another lever is supported at the housing, and a spring (10) is fastened to the housing.
