PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an embedded type mailbox capable of easily adjusting a gap with a fence through the use of one kind of spacer. SOLUTION: The mailbox body 2 of the embedded type mailbox 1 includes: a storage part 6; and a rectangular throw-in part 7 which penetrates the upper part of a front wall 6a, shares the both side walls 6b and top wall 6c of the storage part 6, and is projected forward. A metal mouth part 9 is formed at the front end 7a of the throw-in part 7 in the mailbox body 2 and a take-out port 8 is arranged in the rear wall 6d of the storage part 6. The mailbox body 2 is inserted to the notched part 5 of the fence 4 and fixed to the fence 4 with the use of a fixing means K. The fixing of the fixing member K is performed to the adjacent fence 4 with anchor bolts 11 by arranging holes 13 in attachment pieces 10 which are extended forward from both the side walls 6b of the storage part 6. Projected part 17 are formed on the inner surfaces of both the side walls 20 of the U shape spacer 3 which covers the space 16 between the front wall 6a of the storage part 6 and the fence 4 so as to adjust the position in a front and rear direction.
