A safety device for air cleaner that can prevent non-filtered contaminated air from flowing in an air cleaner by sealing a hole into which a switch bar is inserted, inserting a wire into the hole, and operating the safety device for air cleaner is provided. In an air cleaner comprising a case having a plurality of components mounted on an inner part thereof, a front panel(2) adhered to the front of the case, a switch bar(6) formed on an upper side of the front panel, a switch contact part(12) formed on an end of the switch bar, a hole(9) into which the switch bar is inserted, and a safety switch connected with the switch contact part to supply a power source of the air cleaner to the switch contact part, a safety device for air cleaner is characterized in that a portion of the hole facing the switch contact part is sealed to prevent non-filtered contaminated air from flowing in the case. The hole is sealed at the inner side of the case such that two wires(11) are oppositely inserted along side faces of the hole and exposed to the inside of the hole.
