摘要 Provided are cancer markers for the diagnosis of cancer in humans and non-human mammalian subjects, specifically a cancer marker comprising a negatively-charged molecule with a mass/charge (m/z) ratio of about 991, wherein if the molecule is subjected to post-source ionization, it produces five fragments having an m/z ratio of about 241, about 644, about 705, about 749, and about 947. The cancer marker may be used to determine the presence of one or more cancerous cells or tumours in a biological sample by assaying the sample for a reduced level of said cancer marker.
