PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an analytical method and an analytical apparatus capable of excluding the interference of NO contained in sample gases, measuring the concentration of sulfur compounds, and separately measuring the concentration of SO<SB>2</SB>, the concentration of TS, and the concentration of TRS. SOLUTION: When a sample gas G is irradiated with ultraviolet rays to detect fluorescence emitted with the irradiation by an ultraviolet fluorescent analyzer 2 and measure the concentration of sulfur compounds in the sample gas, O<SB>3</SB>is added into the sample gas G at a midpoint in a cell 21 of the ultraviolet fluorescent analyzer 2. Fluorescence is detected in a stage in which NO is oxidized and converted into NO<SB>2</SB>but in which TRS is not oxidized to measure the concentration of only SO<SB>2</SB>contained in the sample gas.
