PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing structure of a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery free from cracks at a welding part due to inner pressure rise from use. SOLUTION: In the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery with a sealing structure housing an electrode group in a bottomed battery can, insertion-coupling an outer periphery face of a battery lid with a top part of the battery can, and butt-welding a whole periphery of the insertion-coupled part with laser light irradiation, a chamfering is applied at an underside of a butting face of the battery lid to compress a width of the butting face smaller than a thickness of the battery lid, so that a tip of the welding bead is extended lower than a lower end of the butting face.
