A refrigerant control device for a refrigerator is provided to control refrigerant paths by using a 3-way valve or a solenoid valve for blocking introduction of refrigerant of high pressure and high temperature into an evaporator when a compressor is not driven, thereby preventing loss of energy. A refrigerant control device for a refrigerator includes a 3-way valve(230) connected to a compressor(210), a condenser(220) and an outlet of the condenser for controlling an introduction path for refrigerant. When the compressor is driven, compressed refrigerant is introduced into an evaporator(200) via a hot line(240), a drier(250), and a capillary tube(260). In the other case, refrigerant compressed and passing through the condenser flows toward an outlet of a check valve(280), which prevents counterflow of the refrigerant toward the evaporator. The outlet of the condenser is connected to an inlet of the 3-way valve.
